Wilmslow Show

As you know we had a stall at the Wilmslow Show for the first time. Wilmslow Town Council had provided these free of charge to local community groups and we’d like to thank them for this.

The weather forecast for the day showed that it was going to be dry but with wind which is about right for the typical British summer.  John O’B had lent the club a gazebo to keep the sun or rain off us, and I got a WhatsApp from John saying it was in place but I should bring string or rope to help secure it in the wind.  Dave R collected me along with easels, prints and other paraphernalia and we headed off to the showground to meet John and secure the gazebo.  We also used some sandbags which proved useful as we watched other gazebos around us blow away later that morning.  Kathy H joined us with her range of photographic cards to sell on behalf of the club and by about 10:30am all was in place including a club banner.

Michael and David by our stand, note the summer attire!

We were visited by members of the general public throughout the day and have several promising conversation with potential new members.  It was great that other club members also stopped by to help out.

We had a chance to wander round the show and here are few images I took that day.

The nearby bandstand provided musical accompaniment to our day.
