A few words of wisdom

This advice was given to me... "Do what you like and don't try to please others. And most importantly, enjoy"

"It doesn't matter what make of camera you have. Just get out and enjoy taking pictures".

Project Group

A reminder of the summer projects

1.' What I did over the summer’  This is quite open,  it could be for example a (few) holiday images, a Personal Project (if you do not have one, why not?) , your first experiences with a new camera or lens, some experiments with software and post processing  or ????????……………. it's up to you!

2. ‘Long Exposure’  By this we are looking at exposures of one second or longer. It could be light trails in the dark, filtered flattened seascapes, multiple exposures, on a tripod or not? ICM.  Phone users may have more of a challenge, does it mean a new app?  Whichever camera you use its an opportunity to try something different , out of your usual photographic comfort zone.

Next seasons competition subjects

A reminder of the subject for next seasons competition

Comp 1.       DPI.         Open mono.        Theme.. Flight

Comp 2.       Print.       Open colour.        Theme.. Long exposure

Comp 3.       DPI.        Open mono.         Theme.. Lowry

Comp 4.       DPI.        Open colour.         Theme.. Emotions

Comp 5.       Print.      Open mono.          Theme.. Sport & games

Comp 6.       DPI.        Open colour.         Theme.. Abstract/Surreal

As always it is up to the individual how he/she chooses to interpret the theme. Hopefully some of the interpretations will

showcase imagination and individuality.

I realise that long exposure is also a project group theme for the summer but don't see that as a problem. Not all the members attend the project group and perhaps it will encourage some of the project group who do not usually enter the competitions to do so, and anyway, we thought of it first!
