Project Group Update.

Tuesday saw a total of 22 club members contributing and supporting the meeting on the subjects of a Tree Triptych and Feet. As usual there were many and varied images showing great imagination and a variety of skillsets. 

I would ask that members consider the number of entries they submit, we do have a standard target time of a 5 minute presentation. This is to ensure that everyone gets a chance to have their work shown on the night within the time we have available. This is always a bit of a juggling act as the number who contribute and the number of images they have is never consistent or known beforehand.

The next  Project Group meeting is on 18th March 2025.  As usual, the interpretation of the theme is up to you but the chosen subjects, are 

1. Use of filters -  This could be digital, i.e filters in imaging software  or dare I say it, old fashioned screw on lens filters. Remember the square Cokin range? thats the sort of thing if you still have them/can find them.

2. Eggs -                Fried, poached, scrambled, broken, Easter, film noir, as a lighting exercise, or….. or….., or however you wish to do it.

There is no specific image size requirements but keeping it to 1-4 MB keeps the machine working smoothly. If you have any questions or suggestions, please get in touch with meThanks

Cheadle Alliance

Monday we, the chair and myself, attended the first of the three way Cheadle Alliance competitions. The standard was "Very High" as the judge Nick Berentzen commented. Out of our entries, we had 3 images from the PDI's and 3 of our prints held back.

After the first round of DPI images we were in second place with two of our images achieving the top mark of twenty. Then came the prints, our prints did achieve two 19's and an two18's however we did dropped a place and finished in third place. The final scores were very tight with only five marks separating 1st and 3rd so there is all to fight for in the second competition which will be held at Stockport Photographic Society on the 11th March.

Photo Edit Challenge

On Feb 18th, we will be holding a photo editing challenge. Before Feb 8th, we will send the the same two or three images Google Drive to everyone. You can then download these, edit them in your own particular way and upload the results to Photoentry.  The different approaches will then be discussed at the Feb 18th meeting.
