As the last act performed by David Higton as the retiring Chairman. David present the Photographer of the Year trophy to this years winner Michael Hilton. Well done Michael a well deserved win.

George Franks

This week was a practical session led by our returning guest speaker George Franks. After a brief presentation on the intricacies of using off camera flash, to slow down time, and capture those brief moments that the eye misses. That moment when things seem to stand still.

After the presentation it was time to get on with capturing those split second moments as solid object enter water, or dops hit something solid. Below are some of the setups George kindly set up. George did a brief walk round of each station and then let us amatures loose. At the very bottom are a couple of my attempts, as George did say to us all "Timing is everything, and don't expect to achieve anything within the first few attempts".

Cheadle Alliance Competition

Next week is the final competition between Bramhall, Stockport and Wilmslow. Hopefully we fair better during this round than the last two.So good luck to the authors who have had images selected for this comp. 

Backing card

Having had no takers for the job lot of 50x40 cards I previously publicised, Peter Layhe would now accept £1 a sheet for backing cards in random colours, collected from his house.
