Welcome to the 2026/27 Season

First meeting to be held on the 15th Sept, with a welcome evening.

This will be an Intro to the new season and a warm welcome to new members

Meetings are normally from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.  Most are in-person at our clubroom, currently located at the Wilmslow Conservative Club, 15 Grove Avenue, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5EG. See our contact page for a map. Details are in the programme calendar and sent out to members each week.

This is a reminder to members to bring in images from the photowalk from the final, walkabout meeting from last season.

As a reminder the subjects were.....

Self portrait

The colour red

X marks the spot

We would also welcome other images on these subjects that were not necessarily taken on the evening if people are so inclined and anything along the lines of "What we did on our holidays" that members might like to present would also be welcome.

Images on a memory stick with no other content please to make the job of presenting them as easy as possible for the computer operator.

See you on the 15th.

Thanks

David Hardy

Update to Competition rules

Amendments to the competition rules for the 2026/2027 season:

Following some member feedback and discussions within the committee we have decided to amend the rules for all competitions for the 2026/2027.

all images must have been taken within 2 years of the competition in which the image is entered. So if a competition is taking place on 1st October 2026 then only image taken on or after 1st October 2024 are eligible. Please note that if an image is a "composite" then each individual part of that composite is subject to those same rules.

An image or one ‘significantly similar’ that has been entered in a previous monthly competition at this society (or another PAGB affiliated club or society) is ineligible, in any form with the exception of one ‘wildcard’ entry per year. Entry of an image in any other competition does not affect its eligibility.

We hope, with these rule changes to make the competitions a little more exciting, competitive and fair.

Please would you also direct members to the website where the complete amended rules may be viewed.

They are under the tab.... Competitions, Competition information, Competition rules.

Project Group

Here's something to keep you busy over the summer break.

Thanks to Ian for taking on the role of regular projectionist and making improvements to a long established system of actually getting members images onto the screen.

My thanks go to all who contributed images and supported the group throughout the season.

Lastly, the themes chosen for the first meeting of next season.(date has yet to be fixed).
1. (Up to) 10 images from the Summer. Whatever you choose! The good, the brilliant, the bad, what went wrong, how do fix this, I pressed that and got this, whatever…………...
2. Silhouettes.

Hoylake International Exhibition 2026

Closing date – October 2nd

This is an invitation to take part in the 2026 Hoylake International. We are particularly keen to get Print entries. We are offering three unmounted Small Print sections - Open Colour, Open Mono and Abstract Colour.  The latter section is your opportunity to be imaginative and daring. There will be an opportunity for successful entrants to attend the Awards evening in early 2027, but an evening of audiovisual programs and a display of selected prints is available to clubs in the L&CPU area and North Wales, so your successful image/prints will have a wide audience.

The FIAP Blue Badge is awarded to the most successful entrant. In 2025, that went to Carol Watson of Lytham PS. This year it could be you!

Six Sections
Digital Open Colour – PIDC
Digital Nature – ND
Digital Open Mono – PIDM

Small Print – Open Colour – PPDC
Small Print – Abstract Colour – PPDC
Small Print - Open Mono
