Just in case anyone had been missing the newsletters... I had and extended break.

I hope everyone had a good summer. We certainly had the weather, with it being the hottest on record. I could see from the WhatsApp group many of our members have posted some fantastic images and had plenty of photo opportunities over the summer.

Here are a couple of new and refresher items from the previous newsletter.

Also if you have any articles you wish to share in the upcoming newsletters please let me know either in person or by email.

Next season's program

The coming season’s program, you’ll see there a number of Member’s evenings throughout the year. We’d like to encourage as many people as possible to take part in these evenings and also cover topics that people want to be covered. So, please speak to a Committee member if you would like to present a topic to the group (15-20 min slots), or have ideas for what you’d like to see covered and we’ll try and arrange to cover those topics. Thanks. Fiona

Next Season's Competitions

Here are the themes for next season's competition as supplied by David Hardy (Competition Secretary)

People - Mono

Reflections - Colour - Print

Within 20 Miles of Home - Mono

Nature/Animals - Colour (pets and Zoo included)

Architecture - Mono - Print

Composite - Colour (From as simple as a texture to as complicated as you like)

These are ideas that I have had. They are by no means a final list. If you have any other ideas please let David know otherwise this will be the list for next season.

Project Group

Project Group Update.

Following a successful season , we hope to continue the Project Group meetings in the next season. A date has yet to be announced for the first meeting but at least we can get on with taking some photos with the following themes in mind. The interpretation , as ever is up to you, aim to give a presentation that will last up to five minutes.
1. 'Up to 10 images from the Summer’ - this is a wide open theme, apart from selected holiday pictures, consider other successes, failures, what went wrongs, what should I have done in this situation? etc. In fact any image that can be admired, talked about or learned from.
2.‘Rain’ Hopefully it should arrive here again at some time , or, where did you go to find it? and how do you photograph it ?? Remember its not a competion, but taking part can often lead to Competition entries. I hope you all have a good Summer.

WPC Club Sweatshirt

This season we will have a club sweatshirt available for members, featuring our club logo embroidered on the front.  We’ll be taking orders at the first two meetings and I’ll then send off a bulk order.

The sweatshirts are in sky blue and are £17.00 each, which includes a small contribution to club funds.  There’s a size chart below, and I’ll be modelling the latest WPC fashion at our first meeting of the season!  I’m also hoping to bring a few sample garments along for people to try on for size.

It’s a long time since we last had a club sweatshirt, back in the last millennium probably.   I’ve still got mine somewhere but don’t think I dare wear it now. So it’s about time we had a new one!

In the size chart you really only need the first line; the two bottom rows are detailed inch dimensions for lengths.
