A Last Minute Reminder!
Hi Everyone and welcome to another edition of Focal Points!
Not a very big issue this time ..... but the main reason for sending this out today is: to remind everyone that the closing date for entries into the L&CPU Individuals Competitionsis fast approaching and is nextSaturday, 26 April 2025;
please do not leave submitting your entry until the final hour. That is the message put out by our hard working Competition Secretary, Wendy Monaghan. You see that is my problem - I know the closing date is the 26th, it has been published ages ago ....and of course it is on my 'to-do list' ....waiting patiently for me to 'getaroundtoit' ....until you suddenly look at the calendar,realise that it is only a week hence ....panic sets in and you go rooting through your back catalague to find all those'It'll do' pictures ....that subsequently sadly often 'dont'!!Anyway the good news is I have done it and my PDI entry is in ...yes I know - shock horror but I dont want to incur the wrath of Wendy ...and as they are PDI's - no doubt you are all muttering that I should take up proper photography .....Anyway - back to Wendy's message....This competition is held ‘in camera’ and is not open for audience viewing. This is the L&CPU Annual event, where all club members are invited to choose and enter their images, in the following sections: PDI – there are two categories in this section:
Open (which includes colour & monochrome) and Nature. Prints – there are three categories in this section:
Open Monochrome, Open Colour and Nature Where possible, please arrange for prints to be collected together and submitted by your club competition secretary or another member, and ensure they are placed in clearly identifiable club print boxes. If prints are submitted in individual boxes, the sorting team must manage each separately, which can cause confusion and delay when ensuring the prints go in the right box. Drop Off Points for prints will be shared with Club Competition Secretaries and Club Secretaries early in May, around the competition closing date. I know many of you are keen to get your prints delivered, but we are trying to spare our wonderful volunteers from having a living room taken over by a mountain of print boxes – I am sure you understand. Drop off locations will hopefully be available in: Leigh, Middleton, Ormskirk, Morecambe, Horwich, Clitheroe and Gatley.
