Richard Hainsworth
Our guest speaker this week was Rev, DR, Richard Hainsworth an amature photographer from Flint, North Wales.
The first half of Richards talk was dedicated to his enjoyment for Astrophotography and how his passion grew during lock down. We were treated to some amazing images that he has taken over the years. These included far away Galaxies and nebula, all in fantastic detail. The best part was , in his own words. "The nerdy tips and trick's of Astrophotography" which he enthusiastically shared to us.
The second half of Richards talk was in two parts. The first part was dedicated to his journey from one project to another from Landscapes to the smaller elements of the landscape mainly the insect type, there was some truly amazing macro shots of butterflies and minute ants herding aphids on a flower stalk. The second part was all about street photography. His take on documenting street photography was utterly awe inspiring, with many images especially on the many quirky people he photographed during London's peaceful demonstrations during Donald Trump's last visit to London.

Richard is also giving the same talk again on 14th March at Hoylake if anyone would like to come who missed the talk at WPC.
For the benefit of those who couldn’t attend, Richard has also very kindly made his presentation and the accompanying notes available for us to download and view. It’s a very large file so may take some time to download See:

But seeing him in person at Hoylake will be the best experience! Plus you get to see the equipment he brought with him.
Finally, he recommends the YouTube channels AstroBackyard and Nebula Photos which have lots of good information.
